How do I create a virtual drive? |
After naming your Profile, the next step is creating a virtual hard drive on which to install Mac OS. You have different choices on the size of disk that you wish to create – 3GB to 15GB. To install a full version of Panther requires about 2.6GB of hard drive space, so we recommend that you use a virtual hard drive larger than 3GB. Note: To create a virtual hard drive greater than 3GB, the host drive will need to be in NTFS format. You will also need to specify the drive that you would like to use when installing Mac OS. You have two options: you can use a growable or a non-growable hard drive. What is a growable or non-growable hard drive? After completing the next button, you will see two progress screens. The first will say Formatting your selected partition as 'HFS'. This may take up to 10 minutes.HFS stands for "Hierarchical File System" and is the native volume format used on modern Macintosh computers. The second dialog box will alert you when formatting the drive has completed. Click "O.K." to proceed. |
